At The Therapy House we are specialists at prenatal Massage with extensive training and specialized Certifications to prove it. We understand that you are learning to adapt to the many changes going on with your body. So we focus on addressing the aches, pains and anxieties typically associated with pregnancy.

Is Prenatal Massage For You?

We see a lot of Pregnant Mama’s and we know that you are having your own unique experience with pregnancy. Therefore, as Certified Therapists we are prepared to adapt to your unique needs.

In our experience, some Mom’s are blessed with a no-discomfort pregnancy while others find pregnancy a little more challenging.  So, in some cases we focus on stress relief and practiced full body relaxation. While others need a little more attention related to pain, discomfort and stress. In all cases the goal is to positively impact comfort during pregnancy as well as during labor and delivery.

Is Pregnancy Massage Safe?

The benefits of massage therapy have been shown to improve overall prenatal health for many pregnant women. Research shows that Mom’s who receive prenatal massage have overall lower levels of Norepinephrine – stress hormones.  Lower stress hormone levels mean improved mood, less anxiety, improved sleep and less incident of back pain. Granting you a calmer, healthier pregnancy and labor.

Many prenatal care providers now recommend massage therapy as a routine part of prenatal care. There are not only physical health benefits to prenatal massage – there are many emotional benefits that have been shown to improve pregnancy outcome and maternal health as well.

Prenatal Massage is good for all phases of pregnancy, from first trimester to post delivery. Our experts will do an extensive interview to ensure your safety and comfort needs.

As with any new treatment it is best practice to consult with your Physician prior to your first prenatal massage. In some rare instances of high risk pregnancies first trimester Moms are not good candidates for massage. So again,  always check in with your care provider to assure you are a perfect candidate for pregnancy massage.
